Florencia Tranquilli

Florencia joined Motu as a summer intern in November 2018, after completing her Bachelor of Commerce in Economics at Victoria University of Wellington. Florencia has been on the Dean’s list for Academic Excellence in 2016, 2017, and 2018, and is now planning on completing her Honours degree in economics at the University of Auckland.

Currently working with Arthur Grimes on inequality of subjective well-being, Florencia is excited to learn from all senior fellows, fellows and research analysts at Motu. Before starting at Motu, Florencia was an intern at Taratahi, Institute of Agriculture, where she did research about how to export educational programmes to South America. She also worked for Select Committee News, which involved preparing summaries and full reports on Select Committee meetings.

Outside of work, Florencia enjoys learning languages, reading, swimming, and skyping her family in Argentina.
