32nd Australia and New Zealand Econometric Study Group (ANZESG)

On 9 February 2024, Motu Research, The Treasury New Zealand, and Reserve Bank of New Zealand hosted the 32nd Australia and New Zealand Econometric Study Group (ANZESG) in Wellington, New Zealand.

Since its original foundation in 1997 as the New Zealand Econometric Study Group (NZESG), this conference series has been a forum for econometricians and applied economists in Australia and New Zealand to meet, present, and discuss their work. The conference series features scheduled discussants, awards to recognize young scholars, and regularly attracts visitors from Asia, North America and Europe.

Awards are presented to to young/emerging econometricians based on their research and presentation at the meeting. To qualify for an award, researchers should either be working towards a PhD or have completed doctoral research within the past two years.  Please let us know when you submit whether you want to be considered for these awards.

The conference registration fee covers morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, and the meeting dinner. We will provide the details for payment by direct credit. Note that registrations for attendance only are also welcome.

On 9 February 2024, the New Zealand Treasury, Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Motu Economic and Public Policy Research held the 32nd Australia and New Zealand Econometrics Study Group (ANZESG) in Wellington, New Zealand.

The event was held at The Treasury, 1 The Terrace, Wellington Central, Wellington, NZ.

Awards:
Awards were presented to two emerging researchers: Naveed Javed from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, and Fangzhou Yu from the University of New South Wales.

Final Programme:
We had presenters from Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, China, Singapore, and the USA. Please see the final programme for the list of papers and discussants (attached).
